Fall Road Shows Brochure
The Central Chapter Continuing Education Committee,
co-chaired by Cynae Derose and Antonella Guardiola of Northwestern
Memorial Hospital is scheduling a series of five Fall Road
Shows with the title of “CT and Nuclear Medicine” The
Road Shows will be held in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois,
Indiana and Michigan according the following schedule:

Indiana – September
19th at Vincent Hospital Indianapolis, IN - *Registration

There will be no Road Show in Ohio as that will be location
of the 2009 Fall Education Symposium (see article elsewhere
in this issue) The five four-hour sessions will be scheduled
for Saturday mornings in select locations. The course outline
and learning objectives in each location is as follows.
Course Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion
of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Identify and discuss the basic concept, protocols
and challenges of PET/CT
- Describe the basic principle of SPECT/CT
- Understand the basic terminology and
operations of CT
- Identify cross-sectional anatomy on CT images

8:00 -9:00 am- PET/CT Basics
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the concept and basic principles of PET/CT
- Discuss patient preparation , protocols
and scanning techniques
- Identify challenges of PET/CT
9:00 -10:00 am- SPECT/CT Basics
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the concept and basic principles of SPECT/CT
- Identify clinical indications which benefit from
SPECT/CT
- Identify challenges of SPECT/CT
10:00 -11:00am- CT in a Nuclear Medicine Environment
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Identify basic CT terminology
- Discuss the differences between iodinated contrast
media and
their adverse effects
- Identify various types of common artifacts
11:00 -12:00 pm- CT Cross Sectional Anatomy
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Identify anatomy on cross sectional
CT images of the
chest abdomen and pelvis
